Property worth over Sh10 million belonging to a freight company was seized for auction on Friday after nonpayment of a Sh4.8 million debt.
Threeways Shipping Services Ltd allegedly lost goods in a container presented to them three years ago.
The company was issued a seven-day notice, which expired on Friday, to haul assets issued.
The money, owed to Elizabeth Namutebi, covers the value of the goods together with accumulated interest on the same.
Following a protracted court battle, Milimani Law courts ruled that the goods were valued at Sh1.7 million.
But Autoland Auctioneers MD Ezekiel Kiminza said the loss has accumulated an interest of Sh3 million during legal process.
The auctioneers seized assets from the company including six vehicles, 26 computers, several sets of furniture, photocopying machines and water dispensers.
The assets were hauled away from the company’s office situated at Inchape Building in Mombasa.
The auctioneers intend to publish a seven-day notice in local dailies on Saturday before disposing the goods.
Kiminza said the shipping line was not cooperative and regretted that the matter had to end up in court.
The shipping line officials present at the scene refused to be addressed.
