When Korean charterer Hanjin declared their bankruptcy, REEDEREI NSB had seven vessels chartered to Hanjin. Contrary to wide spread media reports REEDEREI NSB is not the owner of those vessels, but operating them as ship manager on behalf of the owner.
Owners are currently in negotiation about outstanding payments with Hanjin. The seven vessels managed by NSB currently are in waiting position on anchorage in different harbors until further proceeding has clarified. One vessel has been arrested in Vancouver. Our nautical department is in permanent contact with the vessels. The crews are well cared of, their payment is regularly paid.
