US oil and gas producers should be allowed to freely export the energy they produce around the world without limits or regulation, the Republican Party official platform stated.
US energy companies should be free to export as much liquefied natural gas (LNG) as they could to meet global demand, the platform added.
“American energy producers should be free to export their product to foreign markets,” the platform, which was adopted at the Republican National Convention stated on Monday. “We remain committed to aggressively expanding trade opportunities and opening new markets for American energy…”
It also expressed support for the development of all forms of energy that were marketable in a free economy without subsidies, including coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear power and hydropower.
